The Detroit Lions improved to a 10-1 record on Sunday after defeating the Indianapolis Colts. The Lions have been considered the best team in the league all season long by most fans and analysts, and their rushing attack featuring David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs has been the strong point of the team. However, one of Detroit’s star backs suffered an injury in the game, and he just revealed his status going forward.
Detroit Lions Star Gives Injury Update
Montgomery was ruled out for the rest of the game against the Colts after he suffered a shoulder injury after being hit by a defender. However, the running back told reporters after the game that he is happy that the team rested him and that he will be good to go for Thursday’s game against the Chicago Bears.
David Montgomery said after the game he would be good to go for Thursday vs. his former team, Bears.
Montgomery thought he could’ve returned in 2nd half but they were smart holding him out. https://t.co/OzlET6wpOp

Best Running Back Duo
So far this season, Montgomery has gone for 632 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 145 attempts. He has been one of the most reliable pieces to the Lions’ offense this season, along with Gibbs, who has 886 rushing yards and ten touchdowns this year. The duo has been the best in the league and has been a big reason for the offense being number one in scoring.
It looked like the injury to Montgomery might have been a little more serious after he went to the locker room, but his positive outlook on the situation has Lions fans feeling relieved.
