The Detroit Lions are leading the Arizona Cardinals at the half in what is a great offensive showing so far. Detroit is expected to be one of the top teams in the NFL this season after making it to the NFC Championship game last year, and have shown that they are still a great team so far in 2024. However, one of the team’s key offensive weapons suffered an injury just before halftime, and it could serve as a huge blow to the Lions.
Detroit Lions Carted to Locker Room
Lions star tight end Sam LaPorta suffered an injury just before the half against the Cardinals and was carted to the locker room. LaPorta has been one of the league’s top tight ends for the last couple of seasons, so losing him would be huge for Detroit.

Sam LaPorta Injured
On a touchdown play by the Lions, LaPorta made a key block right at the goal line so running back Jahmyr Gibbs could score easily. However, the tight end was ran into by a Cardinals defender, causing him to roll on his ankle awkwardly. He is officially questionable to return to the game.
La Porta has already established himself as an elite tight end in the NFL, amounting to 947 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in his first two seasons. He has yet to score this year, but he is poised to be a key factor in the Lions offense.
Do you think the star tight end will return to action soon?
