The Detroit Lions are extending a defensive tackle
The Detroit Lions‘ defensive line is one of the best up-and-coming units in the NFL. The team recently signed a veteran player to help work with the young unit. An upgraded Lions defense could be the key to a playoff appearance next season, as the team was barely kept out of the playoffs in Aidan Hutchinson’s rookie season. The 2022 rookie core is expected to be even better in their second NFL season.
According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, the Lions are re-signing defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs to a two-year deal. The contract is expected to be approximately $6 million.

Buggs is a former 2019 sixth-round draft pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers out of Alabama. He also spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders before signing with the Lions for the 2022 season. Buggs started in 13 games for the Lions last season and recorded one sack and 46 total tackles.
