The Detroit Lions are hyped for the 2023 season. After finishing last season at 9-8, the Lions come into the year as the favorites in the NFC North. For the first time in a long time, the Lions will don an alternate uniform that features a 1960s logo. They unveiled their alternate helmet today on social media.

Detroit Lions Unveil Alternate Helmet
Previously, the alternate helmets for the Lions were incredibly boring. The logo was stripped and it was simply a silver helmet. Now, the helmet will feature the classic 1960s logo. A lion prowls across two silver and blue stripes on the sides of the helmet. This isn’t the first time we have seen the prowling lion on the uniforms but it is the first time we have seen it on the helmet. Alternate helmets are a great way to spice up the season for teams and the Lions are jumping on board.

Big Expectations This Season
The Lions have never won the division. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have won the NFC North more recently than the Lions. They are hoping that changes this year. Minnesota has lost a lot of pieces. Aaron Rodgers is gone from Green Bay and the Bears are most likely a year or two away. The Lions have one of the best offensive lines in the game and a vastly improved defense. If they can put everything together, this could be a very special season.
This is another reason for fans to get excited for the season. In the past couple of years, many teams have hopped on this bandwagon and it is always fun to see what designs teams can come up with.
