The Detroit Lions lost 42-48 to the Buffalo Bills, falling to 12-2, but they remain in 1st place in the NFC North and the NFC Playoff Picture. Injuries continue to pile up for the Lions’ defense following yesterday’s defeat, as three defenders sustained significant injuries. Highlighting one of the three defenders to suffer an injury is their elite interior defensive lineman.
The Detroit Lions’ elite DT exited in the second half
Alim McNeill suffered an apparent knee injury midway through the third quarter. McNeill would not return for the remainder of the game, as the Lions quickly ruled him out. He finished the day with one tackle in 40 defensive snaps.
During their postgame press conference, Lions’ head coach Dan Campbell told the media that he didn’t feel too good about the three injuries to their defensive players. “Know more tomorrow. I don’t feel good about either one of those guys,” Lions head coach Dan Campbell said after Detroit’s 48-42 loss to Buffalo Sunday. “Normally if I’m like saying ‘I don’t feel good,’ that means not good for the rest of the year, so don’t feel good about it.”
The worst happened
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Alim McNeill suffered an ACL tear. As Schefter points out, McNeill will miss the rest of the season and will soon be placed on injured reserve, a devastating loss to the Detroit Lions defense, which cannot catch a break all season.
