The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without star edge rusher T.J. Watt to begin mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Ian Rapoport said on his Twitter about Watt holding out,
“The #Steelers All-Pro edge TJ Watt, seeking a new deal, is not in attendance at mandatory minicamp, per me and
. No progress on a long-term deal.”

With there being no progress on a long-term deal, there is a chance that Watt could still be holding out by the time that NFL training camp rolls around. Watt is 30 years old, and he is entering the final year of his contract with the Steelers. With him holding out, will he be able to get a long-term deal done with Pittsburgh or will fans want to see him traded elsewhere?
NFL Fans Want To See Pittsburgh Steelers T.J. Watt Traded

With the news of Watt holding out of mandatory minicamp, some NFL fans want to see Watt traded from Pittsburgh to a different NFL team. This is what some fans had to say on Twitter:

What a bum, send him to the packers as punishment! That’ll show him

During the 2024 NFL season with the Steelers, he recorded 61 tackles, 11.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and four pass deflections. Watt played for the Wisconsin Badgers in college. If he were to be traded, the Green Bay Packers could make a lot of sense. The Packers just released cornerback Jaire Alexander and freed up more cap space. Green Bay needs more help with pass rushing.
Another team that would make the most sense is the Detroit Lions. Detroit will need to give Aidan Hutchinson a new contract extension eventually, but the Lions need more help on the defensive line. The Lions are in win-now mode.
