The Cleveland Browns and their quarterback, Deshaun Watson, have been making nothing but excuses for his lack of play since joining the team in 2022, and on Wednesday, he dropped another major one on all the media and fans.
Deshaun Watson Has A Big Excuse On His 4th Down Play

During the Cleveland Browns’ 21-15 loss on Sunday against the New York Giants, the Browns were driving late in the game to try to take the lead, but Cleveland turned it over after a missed opportunity on fourth down and one.
During the fourth downplay, tight end Jordan Akins came open, and Watson was staring right at him. If he had made the throw, the Browns would’ve gotten the first down, but instead, the 29-year-old quarterback pulled the ball down and ran with it, and he was short of the first down.
Many fans and media personalities posted the video of Atkins coming open all over social media and how Watson missed him. On Wednesday, during Watson’s press conference, he addressed the play and stated that Akins was a decoy on fourth down and one and wasn’t supposed to get the ball.

Watson is stating another excuse for not throwing it to the wide-open receiver on fourth down. The theme in Cleveland is when Watson plays badly and blames everyone else but himself.
Even if Atkins was the decoy on the play, he’s wide open, and all you need is one yard to pick up the first down. Watson didn’t need to hit any home runs on that play and try to win the game with one throw.
Watson is seeing ghosts on the field right now, and this won’t seem to change until he takes responsibility for his bad play.
