The Cleveland Browns football team is experiencing a lot of drama, which concerns where they will play football in the next few years. There have been rumors that the Browns will move out of Cleveland and move a few miles down the road to Brookpark and build a dome, but the city of Cleveland wants them to stay in the area.
The stadium drama has been a mess the past few months, and it’s not the only drama in Cleveland; veteran quarterback Deshaun Watson has had a lot going on with him since he stepped foot onto the team in March of 2022. He is heading into his third season with the Browns, and if he doesn’t figure it out this year, the Browns will be faced with some very tough decisions next offseason.
Watson has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL in the 12 starts he has had since 2022, and the league has taken notice. The NFL video game Madden has been releasing its rankings for each position group this week, and on Friday, the quarterbacks came out, and the former Clemson star didn’t get a good rating.
Deshaun Watson Is Ranked 23rd
Deshaun Watson is ranked 23rd on the Madden quarterback rankings, behind every quarterback in the AFC North. Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson are ranked in the Top three, and Russell Wilson is ranked 21st. Watson is also ranked behind former Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield at 16.
Cleveland Browns’ old friend Joe Flacco, who took the team to the playoffs last season after Watson was lost for the year, ranks 31, eight spots behind the man whose job he took last season.

6) Tua Tagovailoa: 88
7) Justin Herbert: 87

Madden rankings are a good list to compare players’ past performances and potential performances, but they don’t mean Deshaun Watson will be the 23rd-best quarterback in the league this season.
There is no hiding Watson and making excuses for him anymore. The first two seasons in Cleveland were not great because of a suspension that kept him out for 11 games in 2022 and a shoulder injury that only made him see six starts last year, but now, in year three, all the reasons why he hasn’t performed need to go away, and he has to focus on just football.
