Have you ever seen NFL football players do something on the field or hear something about their personal life, and you’re like “that resonates with me.” I have too!
I decided to take the challenge and describe my personality in NFL football player.
Sleeping and Naps
Sleeping and naps are a critical part of my personality. JJ Watt sleeps between 8 and 11 hours a night, and naps regularly. Same.
Night owl
A sleep adjacent part of my personality. Ed Reed was described as a night owl too, who would stay up all night watching tape. Is the middle of the night not everyone’s most productive time?
He also would always wear a jacket with a hood and if he wanted to talk his hood would be down, and if he wanted to be left alone his hood would go up. He also regularly napped during team meetings. I can identify with ALL of that.
Starbucks
Stefon Diggs loves Starbucks so much he bought his own store for $15,000. I just spend $15,000 on Starbucks every year – or at least that’s what my College Financial Aid Officer thinks (it’s why I’m in debt apparently). Diggs also had custom cleats incorporating the Starbucks designs.
Holiday cheer
The one time a year I’m guaranteed to introduce cheer to my personality is the holiday season – and it’s the over the top Hallmark Movies, Marshmallows in Hot Chocolate, baking, and singing all the good holiday songs type.
Ben Utecht does as well. Ben has his own albums and a Christmas theatre show where he primarily sings Andy Williams holiday hits. That’s the spirit!
90’s Cartoon Nostalgia
Anyone else wish we could go back to the days when people paid with checks, email was a new way to communicate, and Bill Clinton did not have relations with that woman? Nothing stands out besides the sounds of dial-up more than the cartoon gems of yesteryear.
Rugrats was my personal favorite and Laken Tomlinson, Julio Jones, and Aaron Jones agree with me on that.
The Sopranos
Being a member of The Sopranos’ fan club is a defining part of my personality.
Apparently, so are some of our NFL football legends. Lawrence Taylor, Tony Siragusa, and Coach Eric Mangini all had debuts on the show.
True Crime Enthusiast
More NFL players are involved in true crime than those who appreciate it, but there still are fans!
Justin Tucker allegedly did the ‘Jeffrey Dahmer’ dance after making a field goal. That’s Tik Tok for you. Not that I would know because of my tech aptitude.
A unashamed Luddite
I can attest to more than one person who was born during the Great Depression that can still manage new fangled technology better than I can. Some players like Rashard Mendenhall should have probably stayed off the interwebs since they have no chill.
What’s the tweeter? Tik tak? Get off my lawn!
Cat parent
My personality is defined by my love for my fur babies. They demand complete and total loyalty and devotion. My one request is that they dress in cute holiday costumes, and now to walk on a leash.
Marlon Humphrey walked his cat on a leash on the gridiron – that cat is giving catitude.
