Derrick Henry, running back for the Baltimore Ravens, lately stopped by ‘The Rich Eisen Show’ where he revealed the high level of competition he faces against Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley.
In the 2024 NFL season, Henry played his first one with the Baltimore Ravens, while Saquon Barkley made his debut for the Philadelphia Eagles. While both running backs indeed put up pretty solid performances, Barkley was the luckier one and went on to win a Super Bowl with the Eagles.
“Like to be honest with you, last year, I kind of felt that a lot. I just wanted to prove that I can still dominate this league and be a great player, coming here and helping them and doing my job effectively. But I feel like now the chip, it’s not just that. I think it’s like for us as a team, because I feel like we have everything we need to, you know, win a Super Bowl, win a championship and I feel like the whole team should have that chip on their shoulder for us to go out there and prove that. So it’s not really, I don’t really try to focus, trying to think of it as much as me having a chip on my shoulder.” Derrick Henry revealed his feelings about the Super Bowl in his latest appearance on ‘The Rich Eisen Show’.

Derrick Henry’s quarterback, Lamar Jackson, also seemed to echo his thoughts in a conversation with press reporters. Jackson mentioned that he is filled with a spirit of vengeance against other football teams, especially the Buffalo Bills.
Derrick Henry Is Not Ready For Retirement From NFL
Derrick Henry is considered to be one of the older players in the NFL at 31 years old. However, the running back does not seem to be ready to retire at any time from his career in the league, according to his latest interview.

Henry discussed this in the same interview with Rich Risen on his show. The running back admitted that he definitely does not feel like retiring from the NFL right now and will keep playing until he feels like it.

Derrick Henry’s age factor also seems to be edging him toward desperation to win a Super Bowl. Henry has never won a Super Bowl ring in his career, despite having been in the league since 2016. Henry played most of his career with the Tennessee Titans and was then traded to the Baltimore Ravens, with whom he made his debut in the 2024 NFL season.
