The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without a star wide receiver for multiple weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers. The loss comes at a bad time for the Steelers, as second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett and the offense only managed to score seven points in a blowout loss to the 49ers.
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Diontae Johnson is out for a few weeks
Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson left the game in the third quarter with a hamstring injury. According to Adam Schefter with ESPN, Johnson will be sidelined for a few weeks with the injury.

While it’s disappointing for the Steelers and Johnson to miss a few weeks, the report could be worse. If the Steelers plan to sideline Johnson, that means the team isn’t expecting to place him on injured reserve, in which case he’d miss four weeks. Now, that status could change if the Steelers don’t believe Johnson’s recovery is progressing as smoothly as they predict.
Johnson was the Steelers’ second-leading receiver in Week 1. The Steelers will turn to leading wide receiver Allen Robinson and budding star George Pickens to keep the offense humming until Johnson can return.
