The Denver Broncos haven’t exactly gone shopping at the top of the market this offseason, but might be among the league’s biggest free agency winners.
From adding a veteran and reliable playmaker for quarterback Bo Nix by signing tight end Evan Engram or bolstering one of the league’s most dominant defenses by adding linebacker Dre Greenlaw, the Broncos have checked a lot of big boxes early in free agency.

Pro Football Focus lists the Broncos as one of this offseason’s biggest winners.
“After voicing his want to add an impact player to man the “Joker” position in his offense,” the PFF staff writes of the Engram signing, giving the Broncos an A- for their early free agent signings. “Sean Payton gets a splash signing in Engram following his release from Jacksonville. Injuries limited Engram’s time on the field in 2024, but his last full season in 2023 proved he could be an impact player.”
The Broncos also received high marks for signing Greenlaw and linebacker Justin Strnad, among Denver’s other signings.
Whether the Broncos can parlay smart, targeted aggressive signings into taking a major step next season may depend on Nix taking big steps in his development, but Denver has done a solid job of building around their young quarterback, so far, this offseason.
