Even though he’s just playing in his first year in the NFL, Bo Nix already carries way more than what a rookie should have. Fortunately, the Denver Broncos quarterback has enough wit to throw at reporters, particularly at one question asked of him after their most recent loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In a tightly contested game, the Steelers edged out Denver with a score of 13-6. The game highlighted the struggles of Nix, who threw three interceptions, including one on a crucial red-zone drive and another on the final play of the game. Nix’s performance has raised concerns, as the Broncos now find themselves at 0-2.
Meanwhile, Steelers quarterback Justin Fields stepped up, leading his team to victory. Pittsburgh’s defense was solid, allowing only six points and forcing critical turnovers. Pittsburgh capitalized on their opportunities, converting one of their two red-zone possessions into a touchdown, while the Broncos were unable to score any touchdowns despite three visits to the red zone.
Troy Fautanu, the Steelers’ rookie tackle, was a standout player, allowing no pressures during his 29 pass-blocking snaps and only giving up one run stop on 26 snaps. His solid performance contributed significantly to the Steelers’ success.
Denver Broncos’ Bo Nix Goes Viral Over Hilarious Press Conference Response
After the game, Nix faced reporters and had a witty response to one particular question asked of him. His answer can be seen in a video shared by CJ Fogler on X.
Q: “Bo, can you take us through the interception in the end zone?”
Bo Nix: “Uh yeah. Um, dropped back, threw it to the other team” pic.twitter.com/eNakWpnyOr— CJ Fogler account may or may not be notable (@cjzero) September 16, 2024
Nix’s response is reminiscent of NBA forward Taurean Prince’s viral answer during his time playing college basketball. During that moment, the Milwaukee Bucks cheekily explained what a rebound is when asked why their opponents got more of them during a game.
The Steelers’ victory reinforces their strong start to the season, while the Broncos will need to regroup and address their offensive struggles as they head into the next week. In any case, a lot of eyes will be on Nix to see how he’ll perform, both on the field and before the press.
