Denver Broncos: Starting Offensive Lineman Expected to Miss 1 Month Due to an Injury

The Denver Broncos played against the Pittsburgh Steelers in their home opener and lost 6-13. The offensive line didn’t have their best performance run blocking or pass blocking in Week 2. The rushing attack couldn’t find a rhythm all game, limited to 64 rushing yards, and Javonte Williams was held to 17 yards on 11 attempts. The pass protection was ok, as the line allowed eight pressures, five hurries, one hit, and two sacks per PFF.

Their offensive tackle exited the game.

Mike McGlinchey exited the final offensive snap of their second-to-last drive of the game with an apparent knee injury. As a result, McGlinchey missed their final two plays of the game. He had two pressures, one hurry, one sack allowed, a 66.8 pass block grade, a 58.9 run block grade, and a 59.1 PFF grade. He underwent tests to determine the severity.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Mike McGlinchey suffered a significant MCL sprain (possibly a Grade 2 sprain). While the Broncos are evaluating the severity of his injury, he could miss approximately one month and is an injured reserve candidate. We will update you once we have more information.
