The Denver Broncos suffered one of the worst losses in NFL history to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. The Dolphins hung 70 points on the Broncos, the most points scored in an NFL game since 1966. It tied for the second most points ever scored in a game ever. The Broncos finished with 20 points in the game.
The Broncos had high expectations going into the 2023 season. 2022 was a massive disappointment after trading for star quarterback Russell Wilson. However, with a new head coach in Sean Payton the franchise expected to be more competitive this year. That hasn’t been the case, as the Broncos are off to an 0-3 start. Payton has been at the center of the criticism after he publicly spoke negatively about last year’s head coach Nathaniel Hackett. After the game, those criticisms reached a boiling point for Payton.

With a record of 0-3, it’s hard to know what’s next for the Broncos. Even though it’s only September, it feels like a chance at the No. 1 overall pick isn’t out of the question. There is no doubt that they are currently that bad. If this type of play continues, they will be lucky too win two or three games this year, if that.
Taking on the Bears in Chicago next week will be a challenge. Chicago is also 0-3 and has a mess of their own going on. It will be interesting to see if the Broncos get on the right track next week or if they continue to prove that they are one of the worst teams in the league.
