The Denver Broncos’ free-agent acquisition, Dre Greenlaw, has struggled to stay healthy over the past two seasons as a member of the San Francisco 49ers. He suffered a torn Achilles during the second quarter of Super Bowl 58, causing him to miss the first 13 games of 2024. Greenlaw briefly returned in Week 15 but exited with knee soreness and in Week 16 with a calf injury, leading to him being shut down for the final two matchups.

Dre Greenlaw suffered a strained quadriceps during a workout in April. Because quad strains are soft-tissue injuries that can linger, the Broncos are wisely playing it safe, allowing him to fully recover rather than aggravating it. As a result, Greenlaw has been present but will not participate in voluntary organized team activities and will likely miss mandatory minicamp.

During a press conference, via Jon Heath of Broncos Wire, Sean Payton provided an injury update on Dre Greenlaw. Payton said that he is doing well and “on schedule.” He expects Greenlaw to be a full participant once training camp begins in late July.

“He’s on schedule,” Payton said of Greenlaw’s recovery, via Heath. “I saw the early reports, and you don’t know how tempted I get sometimes… But I showed great restraint. He’s doing well and will be a full participant in training camp. All of that’s doing great, but I refrained.”
