The Denver Broncos look to build on last season’s strong defensive performance. The team boasted one of the top defenses, ranking 3rd in points, 7th in total yards, and tied for 7th in takeaways in 2024. One area the Broncos aim to improve is in coverage after giving up the 6th-most completions and the 14th-most passing yards, but the 6th-fewest passing touchdowns, however, a slight improvement from 2023.

Brandon Jones had a breakout first season in Denver, boasting career highs in tackles, interceptions, and pass deflections. He recorded 115 tackles, two TFLs, three interceptions, ten pass deflections, and one forced fumble in 16 regular-season games and 15 starts, plus seven tackles in the Wild Card Round. Jones also allowed a 67.1% completion percentage, 492 passing yards, two touchdowns, and a 79.0 passer rating.

During last Tuesday’s press conference, Brandon Jones reflected on his breakout season and his mindset for 2025, via Aric DiLalla of the team’s website. He said he wants to “grow in every aspect” since you can never be too good at one thing. Jones added that he was glad to display more than his versatility in his breakout season.

“Overall, I want to grow in every aspect,” Jones said, via DiLalla. “I don’t think you can ever be too good at one thing. I was glad I was able to show that I can be more versatile, especially being labeled early on in my career as one thing. I’m just excited to continue to do what I can do and be a great teammate and leader for this defense.”

“[He’s a] communicator,” Head Coach Sean Payton said last Tuesday. “Very important and an important guy for us a year ago when we signed him. A veteran presence and someone who’s smart.”
