The Denver Broncos aim for a better rushing attack in 2025 after a mediocre year on the ground. The offense finished in the middle of the pack in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns, ranking 16th and tied for 23rd, respectively. No running back rushed for over 600 yards, with their leading rusher, Javonte Williams, now with the Dallas Cowboys.
The goal is for RJ Harvey to take over as the feature back while their former fifth-round pick complements him as part of a balanced rushing attack.
Denver Broncos’ fifth-round pick didn’t play much in 2024

Audric Estime had a tough rookie season, missing Weeks 2-5 with an ankle injury. When he returned, he had a minimal role on offense, representing only 138 (16%) snaps. Estime rushed for 310 yards on 76 carries and two touchdowns, along with five receptions for 27 yards in 13 games and one start. He was a healthy scratch in the Wild Card Round.

The Denver Broncos’ plan for power back in 2025

During Thursday’s press conference, Sean Payton said he plans to utilize Audric Estime more in 2025. Payton added that Estime is a power back who “requires enough touches” to succeed and impact the offense. Finally, he hopes to see him play like he did at Notre Dame.
“He’s a back that requires enough touches,” Payton said Thursday, via Grant Gordon of NFL.com. “He’s going to get those opportunities.
“Year 2 for him,” Payton said when asked what he wants to see from the Notre Dame product. “Just running style and his physicality, the things that got him drafted. The things that we saw. [It was] a little bit harder for him last year — for a handful of these guys. I don’t want to say the grade was incomplete, but they just didn’t have enough [touches].”
