The Denver Broncos’ defense drastically improved and boasted one of the top defenses in 2024 compared to last season’s struggles, ranking as one of the worst defenses in 2023. Denver gave up the sixth-most points and fourth-most total yards in 2023 and allowed the third-fewest points and seventh-fewest total yards in 2024. The Broncos accomplished this feat without their talented tackling machine for most of the season.
The Denver Broncos star linebacker missed all but three games

Alex Singleton played every single snap in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite suffering a significant knee injury. It was later discovered that he suffered an ACL tear during the same game. However, Singleton did not undergo ACL corrective surgery until Tuesday, October 15, because he had to wait for his knee to stop swelling.
As a result, the veteran linebacker missed the team’s final 14 regular-season games and the Wild Card game. Special teams ace Justin Strnad later replaced him in the starting lineup.
Broncos’ tackling machine reveals his ideal return date for 2025

Alex Singleton told Mike Klis of 9news.com that he expects to be ready by the nine-month mark since ACL corrective surgery generally takes nine months to recover from. Since he underwent surgery on October 15, the expectation is that he will be ready around July 15, approximately two weeks before the start of training camp. This means that Singleton will likely miss offseason workouts, organized team activities, and mandatory minicamp.
“At the 9-month mark,” Singleton said, via Mike Klis. “There’s no rush. I guess that’s the best part about getting hurt early. So I’ll be ready to go by the time the season rolls around.”
