Deion Sanders might soon join the Dallas Cowboys as head coach after general manager, Jerry Jones, recently reached out to him. Sanders, who is currently coaching college football for the Colorado Buffaloes, recently was quizzed about the same by ESPN.
The Dallas Cowboys finished the regular season in third position of the NFC East, after winning seven games and losing ten. In their last game of the season, the Cowboys played the Washington Commanders and lost the game with a final score of 23-19. After their disappointing season, the Cowboys fired head coach, Mike McCarthy and are on the hunt for a replacement soon enough.
“To hear from Jerry Jones is truly delightful, and it’s intriguing. I love Jerry and believe in Jerry. After you hang up, and process it, and think about it, it’s intriguing. But I love Boulder and everything there is about our team, the coaches, our student body and the community.” Deion Sanders said to ESPN.
Deion Sanders will bring ample coaching experience if he decides to join the Dallas Cowboys. While Sanders is currently with the Colorado Buffaloes, he coached the Jackson State Tigers for a period of two years. As a player, Sanders was part of the Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins and lastly the Baltimore Ravens.
Deion Sanders Has Theory Why MLB Is Not Popular In The African-American Community
Deion Sanders is not only known as a former NFL player, but also played as an outfielder in nine MLB seasons with numerous teams like the New York Yankees and the Atlanta Braves. In a recent appearance with the ‘Million Dollaz Worth of Game’ podcast, Sanders spoke about why baseball is not so popular in the African-American Community.
“Baseball ain’t cool in the hood. Because baseball takes a lot of work, training, rigorous hours, and time. And girls don’t dig baseball players. Girls come inside the gym to watch the hoopers… Girls like the physicality of a football player and the dominance that he portrays.” Sanders said on the ‘Million Dollaz Worth of Game’.
Sanders also went on to comment that baseball plays a very little part in terms of African-American heritage, which might be yet another reason why members of the community might not be so keen to introduce their children to this sport at a young age. In 2022, Sanders spoke about the same issue, and pointed out that the population of African-American baseball players has definitely dwindled over time.
