Baltimore Ravens new wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is making a mark ahead of the 2025 season, as he started training camp with his new team. In a social media post, the NFL veteran expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to “do what he loves.”

DeAndre Hopkins signed with the Baltimore Ravens this offseason and was making headlines almost instantly during training camp with one ridiculous captured catch that went viral across all social media platforms. After the reach it gained on social media, Hopkins posted a simple four-word caption that expressed his love for the game and the fun of playing in Baltimore.

“…doing what I love,” he captioned his post.

Ravens head coach, John Harbaugh, also expressed his honest impressions on their new wide receiver, whom he said he has high expectations for this 2025 season.

“First of all, I think he’s a heck of a football player,” Harbaugh said of Hopkins this week, via the team’s official website. “Obviously, you saw him today. He’s a gifted guy. He’s a talented guy. He’s going to be a big-body, contested-catch receiver for us, certainly.”

“There’s not going to be any situation that’s going to be too big for him, but I just thought he and Lamar (Jackson) looked really good today out there together.”

Harbaugh also added that “it was nice to see.”

DeAndre Hopkins Shoulders Load in Ravens’ Crowded Receiving Room

DeAndre Hopkins arrives in Baltimore as the unquestioned elder statesman of what may be the league’s deepest wide-out room. Alongside rising star Zay Flowers, breakout scorer Rashod Bateman, long-time target Mark Andrews, and improving tight end Isaiah Likely, Hopkins brings the veteran savvy and reliable hands the Ravens crave as they head into training camp.

Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken admits that having five proven pass-catchers can breed chaos if not managed carefully. He’s charged with divvying up targets in a way that keeps Hopkins engaged without shortchanging the younger playmakers, leaning on his decades of experience to help mentor the group and maintain harmony in the huddle.

Baltimore’s 2024 playcalling patterns underline Monken’s balancing act: nearly one-third of snaps came in heavy tight-end sets, while three-wide and two-running-back looks accounted for another 46 percent. Monken and Hopkins will be key to disguising formations and ensuring defenses can’t zero in on a single threat, setting the stage for a diversified aerial attack in 2025.

In the 2024–2025 NFL regular season, DeAndre Hopkins appeared in 14 games and recorded 56 receptions for 610 receiving yards, averaging 10.9 yards per catch, with five touchdowns and a long of 35 yards.
