Well, with New England only carrying two quarterbacks on the roster, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported,

The #Patriots have claimed QB Tommy DeVito, source says. New England made a run at DeVito in 2023 before he signed with the #Giants’ practice squad. He now heads to Foxboro after two seasons, 12 games and 8 TDs with his hometown team.”

Tommy DeVito during the preseason with the New York Giants passed for 323 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Giants’ fans were hoping that they would keep him on the roster.

A lot of NFL fans had various interest in finding out that DeVito was claimed off of waivers by the Patriots. This is what some NFL fans said on Twitter about it:

On the Patriots depth chart at the moment, DeVito is listed as the third string quarterback for this football team. Dobbs has been a journeyman in the NFL and so has DeVito. Hopefully, Maye does not get hurt for New England this season and it would be a nightmare scenario for them if either Dobbs or DeVito has to play a few games for them this year.
