Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams has long insisted that he is happy playing where he is and that he does not want to be traded. In the early days of training camp, he went so far as to admonish the media for perpetuating trade rumors citing his unhappiness with the Raiders franchise.
That was then. This is now.
It appears that there may have been a little bit more to the rumors NFL insiders and the media reported surrounding Adams and his discontent with Las Vegas than the star wide receiver admitted. On Tuesday, he informed the Raiders that he wanted to be traded.
Of course, this announcement led a new round of trade rumors with multiple teams being linked to the three-time All-Pro. However, Adams has his own list of teams that he would like to play for, and the two names at the top are not surprising.
At all.
NFL Insider Reveals Davante Adams Would Like to Be Traded to the New Orleans Saints or New York Jets
On Wednesday afternoon, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on X (formerly Twitter) that the two teams Adams wants to be traded to the most are the New Orleans Saints and New York Jets. For fans familiar with Adams’ history, this should not be surprising.
Two teams high on Davante Adams’ wishlist of places to land – if not at the very top – are the Jets and Saints, per league sources.

As Schefter notes in his post above, Adams has played with Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback of the Jets, and Derek Carr, the quarterback of the Saints.
Obviously, the six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver has a history with both quarterbacks. He and Carr were teammates in college at Fresno State and played for a year together in Las Vegas. Rodgers was his quarterback in Green Bay, and the two set several franchise records together.
In his time with the Packers, Adams had 669 receptions for 8,121 yards and 73 touchdowns. The majority of these numbers can with Rodgers under center.
Are There Other NFL Quarterbacks that Davante Adams Is Familiar With?
Obviously, Rodgers and Carr are the only two quarterbacks that Adams has a long history with. However, there are a few other quarterback situations around the NFL with which he is familiar.
Of course, Adams was a member of the Packers for the first two years of Jordan Love’s career. He will have a familiarity with Green Bay’s system having played in for years, too. However, the Packers will not part with the draft picks necessary to bring Adams back to Green Bay. In addition, they have an exciting group of wide receivers that are younger and less expensive.
Tim Boyle of the Miami Dolphins was a backup quarterback in Green Bay for two years during Adams’ tenure there. However, the Dolphins do not seem keen on playing Boyle.
