Davante Adams does not seem happy with the Raiders. A year after being traded to the team with high hopes, things seem very bleak in Las Vegas right now. Derek Carr is gone and the oft-injured Jimmy Garoppolo is his replacement. The absence of Josh Jacobs is also making Adams unhappy with the situation in Las Vegas.
Davante Adams Unhappy That Josh Jacobs Does Not Have A Deal
Jacobs was the leading rusher in the entire NFL last year. That was not enough for the Raiders to give him a big extension. In an interview with NFL Network’s Bridget Condon and Brian Shaw, Adams had this to say about the situation.
“Not having him right now is obviously something that I’m not happy with. “Obviously, he played like the best back in the league last year, which if you ask me, he is the best back in the league. So, it’s tough not having him at this part of the training period trying to get ready for the season, but we’ll see what happens down the line. Hopefully, we can figure something out.”
While the Raiders struggled last year, their offense still produced very good numbers. A big part of that was Jacobs. The star receiver is hoping something can get figured out.
Problems Keep Piling Up
The Jacobs problem is one thing. If Adams is unhappy, this could get out of control. Already, rumors are swirling about Adams requesting a trade to some other place. The popular theory is he wants to reunite with Aaron Rodgers in New York but that is just a theory. Ultimately, I would expect Adams to stay in Las Vegas as midseason trades are more difficult for NFL teams but I wouldn’t count anything out. The Raiders should find some way to get Jacobs back on the field for the sake of their offense in 2023. Otherwise, it might be a long season for the Raiders.
Davante Adams is ready to see Josh Jacobs back on the field. The season is fast approaching and the two sides seem far apart.
