Dan Campbell praises Jared Goff
Dan Campbell is entering a good position with the Detroit Lions in 2023. The Lions have the best odds of winning the NFC North after the early free agency period. Much of the teams’ success next season will depend on how quarterback Jared Goff performs. Campbell offered Goff encouraging words at the Annual League Meeting.
According to Eric Edholm and Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, Campell said he was content with where Goff is:
“Listen, feel really good about it. Goff? Love Goff. Goff’s our guy, man,” Campbell said when asked about the Lions’ QB situation. “I think he’s proven over the last two years that, man, he’s made for us. He’s had to endure a lot, just like all of us have. I thought he played his best football last year, and I think he’s gonna come out and play some of the best this year. Feel good about it.
“So I love our quarterback position right now.”
There have been recent rumors the Lions might be interested in going after quarterback Lamar Jackson in free agency to upgrade their quarterback room. But Campbell seemed to stamp out that rumor this week.
