The Dallas Cowboys have been struggling this season as they are third in the NFC East with a 3-4 record and things are not looking great lately. However, they are going to be without one of their key players ahead of their Week 9 road game against the Atlanta Falcons for a non-injury reason.
ESPN’s Todd Archer is reporting that running back Ezekiel Elliott will not be activated or make the trip for Week 9’s game due to disciplinary reasons. This would be the first time in Ezekiel Elliott’s career that he is a healthy scratch for a non-season finale in his NFL career.
The Dallas Cowboys decided to elevate running back Dalvin Cook ahead of this game to help alleviate the issues that the running game may have without Ezekiel Elliott on the roster. In his first season back with the Dallas Cowboys, Elliott has 48 rushing attempts for 149 yards (3.1 yards per carry) with a pair of rushing touchdowns as well as seven receptions on 10 targets for 40 yards (5.7 yards per catch).
Can the Dallas Cowboys win Week 9 against the Dallas Cowboys?

The Dallas Cowboys have been dealing with injuries this season and this is hopefully going to be something that slows down for them. However, the Atlanta Falcons are a tough test as they have an explosive offense. The Falcons are currently a 3.5-point home favorite, jumping a full point from the opening line on ESPN Bet.
The Cowboys are hoping the momentum in garbage time last week against the San Francisco 49ers but that could just be a bit of false hope. Expect the Atlanta Falcons to dominate this game and continue moving in the right direction in this game with a victory.
