Dallas Cowboys fans will be in for another stressful offseason after their team once again failed to make a deep playoff run. Some analysts think it’s time to move on from Dak Prescott and are already throwing wild trade rumors into the air.

Jerry Jones and co understand that replacing the eight-year veteran out of Mississippi State would be a tall order. However, there is one name floating in the trade mill that would probably convince the outspoken team owner to pull the trigger to address his team’s QB situation.
Will the Dallas Cowboys Trade Dak Prescott for Justin Fields?
According to Matthew Schmidt of the NFL Analysis Network, the Chicago Bears are in the position to provide the 2023 NFC East champions with the perfect man under center that will allow them to retool their roster while remaining competitive in Justin Fields.

The Bears have the first overall pick that they could use to draft Caleb Williams out of USC. However, they could use the pick to select another playmaker should they manage to get their hands on a more established signal-caller like Prescott that would allow them to be competitive in the tough NFC North.
The current Dallas QB1 would be a great addition to the Bears should this hypothetical deal push through. He finished the season with 4516 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. Moreover, a change of scenery might be what he needs to get over his playoff slump.
How green will the Fields be in Arlington?
Some Dallas fans may look at Fields as an unsuitable replacement for Dak. However, Fields at the AT&T Stadium makes more sense if Jones is looking for a soft rebuild while remaining competitive.

Justin’s numbers may look lackluster in comparison to Dak’s, but it’s important to remember that Fields is a much better player this year. He had career numbers in passing yards (2562), interceptions (9), yards gained per game played (197.1), and completion percentage (61.4).
He may have made minute improvements, but he’s shown flashes of potential that would make any Dallas Cowboys fan swoon. The problem now lies in whether Jerry Jones and the rest of the Dallas front office see potential in Fields to make the deal happen.
