The Dallas Cowboys lost a legendary player today. As previously reported on GH, former Cowboys offensive lineman Larry Allen suddenly passed away while on vacation in Mexico at the age of 52.
Now, fans and players have had a chance to react to the sudden passing. As a result, legendary Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith released a reaction video to Allen’s passing. In that video, it took a lot for Smith to hold back tears.
Emmitt Smith Tearful and Deeply Reflects After Larry Allen’s Passing

This afternoon, Emmitt Smith released a video with his first reaction after finding out his former teammate, Larry Allen, passed away. To say he was holding back tears would be an understatement. Smith was emotional throughout the video and seemed to be in shock that this happened. With this reaction, Smith urged others to appreciate what they currently have in life:
“Life is very fragile, and we are only here for a moment… Live life to the fullest… love those that are closest to you. Try to love those that are not near you as best you can… Hug someone today and let them know you love them.” -Emmitt Smith
Emmitt Smith’s Career With Larry Allen

One can argue Larry Allen had a big part in the success of Emmitt Smith’s career. When all was said and done, Smith ended up setting the NFL record for the most career rushing yards. Allen blocked for Smith during nine years of Smith’s legendary career. On top of this, the two players won a Super Bowl together.
Dallas Cowboys Moving Forward

To say Allen’s passing was shocking would be an understatement. He was only 52 years old and died while on vacation with his family in Mexico. By this age, he was already in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and in the Dallas Cowboys’ Ring of Honor.
Allen and Smith were two players that helped the Cowboys’ franchise reach the status they currently have today. Now, members of Cowboys Nation have to mourn this sudden and significant loss.
Once the Cowboys do this, they will have to try to focus on their current goal. That goal is to get back to the status that they had when players such as Larry Allen and Emmitt Smith played for them. Dallas has not even reached the NFC Championship in 28 years. Meanwhile, every other major Dallas sports team has made a conference championship in just the past year.
