The Dallas Cowboys are ready to make another run at a Super Bowl this year as the 2024 regular season begins against the Cleveland Browns this Sunday. While the team is poised for another great season, some question marks are within the Cowboys’ quarterback room.
Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Trade Proposal
Third-string quarterback Trey Lance is the quarterback whose future with Dallas is in question. Lance had a rough preseason this year, especially in the last matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, where he threw five interceptions. Despite the horrific performance, he still managed to make the 53-man roster.

Trey Lance Career
Lance was the third pick of the 2021 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers and was believed to be the next great quarterback in norther California. However, he was unable to produce for San Francisco, and was traded to the Cowboys last season after Brock Purdy took over the starting role. He has still been unable to produce with Dallas, which has left for speculation of a new team in the near future for the young quarterback.
Trade Proposal
The team that could go after Lance is the Las Vegas Raiders, who have been in a quarterback crisis since trading former starter Derek Carr to the New Orleans Saints. The proposal has Las Vegas giving Dallas a late-round draft pick, along with a sixth-rounder in exchange for the quarterback. While Lance’s value has dropped, going to the Raiders, whose receivers consist of Davante Adams and Jacoby Myers, could be the spark he needs in his career.
While there is a good chance Las Vegas will try to snag a quarterback in next year’s draft, bringing in a mobile, young quarterback with potential like Lance could help shape their offense for years to come.
