The Dallas Cowboys and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb have yet to agree to a new contract. Lamb is entering the final year of his contract and has yet to show up for NFL training camp.
On Thursday night, Lamb responded on Twitter to a comment that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made. This is what he posted:

It did not go well with him that Jerry Jones felt no sense of urgency to get a deal done soon with him. Jones has gaslighted the Cowboys fanbase all offseason long that they are “all-in” for the 2024 season. Dallas went 12-5 last season and won the NFC East before losing to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wild Card Round.
ESPN’s Courtney Cronin Makes Shocking Take About Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb
ESPN’s Courtney Cronin went onto First Take on Friday morning to talk about the situation with the Dallas Cowboys and CeeDee Lamb. Cronin mainly covers the Chicago Bears for ESPN, but this is what she said about Lamb:
“Don’t be surprised at some point, if this thing continues, if you see CeeDee Lamb come out with a trade request.”
It would be fascinating to see if Lamb did request a trade from the Cowboys before the start of the 2024 season. If the star wide receiver were to be traded, Dak Prescott would be losing his top wide receiver. Prescott is also entering the final year of his contract and Micah Parsons will also need a new contract.
Lamb last season with Dallas caught 135 passes for 1,749 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns, along with averaging 13.0 yards per catch. He was targeted 181 times. The stud wideout is 25 years old and was also a first-round pick (17th overall selection) for Dallas in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma.
It is a massive mistake that Jerry Jones has not given him a contract extension by now. Lamb is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. If they were to trade him, Dallas should not bother giving Prescott and Parsons new contract extensions and the Cowboys should start all over then.
There would be a massive market for Lamb if he requested a trade from the Cowboys. Some of the teams that could make a trade for him are the Kansas City Chiefs, the Buffalo Bills, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Arizona Cardinals, and the Carolina Panthers. He would rather play for a contender if he were to ask out of Dallas, but he better be careful what he wishes for, however.
