Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys are heading into the NFL offseason after missing the playoffs in 2024. It was a sobering reality check that showed just how far away from Super Bowl contention the Cowboys might be.
Obviously, the injury to quarterback Dak Prescott was a brutal blow. No one can know how the season would have gone if he had been healthy. However, there were a lot of issues past the Prescott injury.
Heading into the offseason, the Cowboys have been expected to have an aggressive approach. Jones has stated that he doesn’t expect to be “aggressive,” but it seems likely that Dallas would love to bring in a piece or two in free agency.
With that being said, a potentially “perfect” target has been named for the Dallas Cowboys that would bring a major boost to the offensive side of the football.
Dallas Cowboys ‘Perfect’ 2025 Free Agency Target Would Bring Huge Offensive Boost
In a recent article from Bradley Locker of Pro Football Focus, he suggested that Stefon Diggs would be a perfect target for the Cowboys.
“Diggs should have a robust market with Tee Higgins no longer available, but he’d be a wonderful intermediate complement to Lamb. And the veteran receiver could get to be on the same team as — and practice against — his brother Trevon every day.”
Bringing Diggs onboard to pair with CeeDee Lamb at the wide receiver position would be electric. He is coming back from a torn ACL, but many expect him to bounce back strong in 2025.
If the Dallas Cowboys were to sign him, he would give them another playmaker offensively, but he would also be able to take some defensive pressure off of Lamb.
During the 2024 season with the Houston Texans, Diggs played in just eight games before tearing his ACL. He caught 47 passes for 496 yards and three touchdowns.
At 31 years old, there are some who are concerned that Diggs may be losing a step, but he would be worth the risk. If the Cowboys want to bring in an offensive impact player, this would be a legitimate option.
