Just recently, Dak Prescott inked a massive $240 million contract to stay with the Dallas Cowboys as the team’s starting quarterback. In response, NFL GOAT Tom Brady reminded him of the pressure that comes along with such a massive deal.
Prescott has officially become the highest-paid player in NFL history after signing a groundbreaking four-year, $240 million contract with the Dallas Cowboys. This new deal, which averages $60 million per year, surpasses the previous record held by several quarterbacks, including Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence, who secured extensions at $55 million annually.

The contract also includes a staggering $231 million guaranteed, setting a new standard in player compensation. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed his commitment to the quarterback, emphasizing the deal’s significance for the team’s future. Prescott, entering his final season of a previous contract, held considerable leverage during negotiations due to clauses that would allow him to reach free agency if not extended.
With the Cowboys beginning their season against the Cleveland Browns, Prescott’s focus is on leading the team to their first Super Bowl title since 1995. This contract follows another significant agreement for the Cowboys, as All-Pro receiver CeeDee Lamb also secured a lucrative deal recently.
NFL GOAT Tom Brady Reminds Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott of of Pressure That Comes With $240 Million Contract

After news broke out of Prescott’s contract, various personalities came out and shared their thoughts. Among those who gave their opinion was former New England Patriots star Tom Brady, as seen in an article written by Chris Licata for Athlon Sports.
“Dak signed the largest contract in the history of the NFL, now he’s got to go out there and earn it,” Brady said. “And 2023 was his best season, he’s coming off of that. But going forward, it’s going to be what happens in the postseason.”
Despite winning the NFC East and finishing with a 12-5 record in 2023, Prescott and the Cowboys were eliminated from the playoffs by the Green Bay Packers, losing 48-32 in the Wild Card round. He holds a 2-5 postseason record and a 91.8 passer rating over his eight seasons with Dallas. Meanwhile, Brady is now the highest-paid color commentator with a 10-year, $375 million deal at Fox.

The Cowboys are now looking to capitalize on this investment, aiming for a successful season that finally culminates in playoff success. As Prescott steps into his new role as the league’s top earner, all eyes will be on how he performs and whether he can elevate the team’s aspirations.
