The Dallas Cowboys currently lead the New York Giants 17-12 in the fourth quarter of their Week Four matchup. So far, Dallas has been able to keep New York out of the endzone, with all of the Giants’ points coming on Greg Joseph field goals. Meanwhile, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has thrown two touchdown passes, one to Rico Dowdle and another to CeeDee Lamb. Brandon Aubrey added a 60-yard field goal.
But the story of the game has not necessarily been great play by either team. Indeed, both sides have proven to be rather lackluster. Instead, the announcers and fans on social media have been ragging on the referees and the high number of flags that have been thrown.
Few have been as loud as Cowboys super fan and popular sports analyst Skip Bayless, who believes the NFL has rigged this game for Dallas.
Skip Bayless Claims the NFL Has Fixed the Game for the Dallas Cowboys to Defeat the New York Giants
This game has been an example of what many feel is wrong with the NFL. While referees are supposed to enforce league rules and ensure safe play, many take the spotlight off the players and put it on themselves.
One of the worst calls of the game, so far, occurred on New York’s first drive. Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger was flagged for a face mask, a penalty that backed New York up to second-and-18. Replay, however, showed that the face mask was actually committed by Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown.
After the replay, Bayless posted the following:
REF GOT MIXED UP AND GOT THE FACEMASK BACKWARD, CALLED IT ON THE WRONG TEAM, COST THE GIANTS 15 YARDS. UNREAL.

Bayless also called out the referees for picking up a holding flag that would have negated Dowdle’s touchdown. Instead of keeping Dallas off the board, they allowed the touchdown to stand.
Bayless posted the following:
REFS PICK UP A FLAG THAT A REF FIRED INTO THE PLAY??? OUR TD STANDS??? MAYBE SOMEBODY WAY UPSTAIRS SAID, “WE CANNOT LET THE COWBOYS LOSE TONIGHT. WE NEED THEM.”

At halftime, Bayless posted a video of himself thanking the referees for giving Dallas the lead:

“So far the difference is that we have CeeDee Lamb, and they don’t,” Bayless said of the game at the half. “But the difference is also we have the refs on our side because Overshown grabs a facemask and they call it on the Giants and kill their drive, costing them a touchdown, potentially, making them kick a field goal.
“And then, on the Dowdle touchdown, the ref fires a flag right into the middle of the play, and then somehow he’s talked out of it, they pick it up. Touchdown.
“I’ll take it. It’s the best we got.”
Later in the second half, Bayless posted that all the penalties were making the game borderline unwatchable.
Anyone who has watched it from the beginning will have to agree.
