Dallas Cowboys Get The Win, But Their Playoff Hopes Are Done For 2024 Season

The Dallas Cowboys were able to come away with a slim victory on Thursday night over the New York Giants, but it came at great cost. The Cowboys watched so many of their top stars get injured in the game, and even though they were able to win the game, they were not going to make the playoffs barring an incredible turnaround for the team.

At least two of the Cowboys’ best defenders will be out for multiple games because of injuries sustained in their Thursday night victory.

Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Trevon Diggs Injured

Both of the Cowboys’ Pro Bowl pass rushers DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons suffered injuries in the game, and Micah was even carted off the field in what seemed like a serious injury. The initial diagnosis of their injuries has some optimism, but the report highlights that both will miss some games.

Not to mention, that Trevon Diggs also had to leave the game, but his injury may not take him out of any further games. These injuries are brutal for a team that has not been able to get going this first month of the season, and now their schedule gets incredibly tough right as they will miss their top defenders.

“Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence is expected to miss multiple weeks because of the foot injury he suffered Thursday night, per sources. With Micah Parsons dealing with a high-ankle sprain, Dallas now likely will be without two of its top defenders until after the Week 7 bye,” Pelissero wrote.

Dallas has not looked good, to say the least, this season, including their close victory over the Giants, and it is about to get much tougher in the next two months. To lose both Lawrence and Parsons in the same game is going to hurt them drastically in the next couple of months of their schedule.

Their next seven games are tough, to say the least, and none of them are easy wins with a fully healthy Dallas roster. To be missing their two best defenders and to go through this gauntlet of winning teams will destroy their record. Their entire remaining schedule is teams that could easily beat Dallas with the way they are playing, and it will be incredibly difficult for them to even go .500 in their next 8 games.

It would be an incredible coaching and player performance for them to get through this schedule and still manage to find themselves in a position to get into the postseason, but that seems near impossible with where they find themselves now.

Jerry Jones has destroyed this team with the way they handled the off-season, and it is going to bite them in the tush badly this year. Do you think Dallas still has a chance to turn the season around against all of these tough teams on their schedule, or is this the end of the McCarthy era in Dallas?

While they will get Micah and Lawrence after their bye week, the season appears to be in jeopardy.

From my perspective, Dallas is done.
