The Dallas Cowboys, as of this writing, are minutes away from kicking off their Week Four game against their division rival, the New York Giants. At 1-2, the Cowboys have woefully underperformed so far this season. The Giants, too, are 1-2, but very few expected that they would be very good this year, especially considering they have one of the worst quarterback situations in the NFL.
The Cowboys, meanwhile, recently made quarterback Dak Prescott the highest-paid player in NFL history and gave wide receiver CeeDee Lamb the second highest-paid player at his position. Additionally, they boast All-Pro Micah Parsons on defense, a unit that has been among the worst in the NFL in stopping the run this season.
Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Gets Destroyed for His Comments Prior to the Game vs the New York Giants

Going into Week Four, everyone in the Cowboys organization was facing serious criticism from fans. This was particularly true of the coaching staff, led by Mike McCarthy and Mike Zimmer.
Prior to the game, Jones spoke on a local radio station in Dallas and defended the entire roster and coaching staff. He said, (via Jon Machota): “By any measurement, except the last two ball games, we’ve got top quality players. And I know we’ve got arguably one of the best players in the league in our quarterback. … We got the personnel. We got the talent. And I really believe in our coaching staff.”
As one might have expected, fans did not find his statement assuring at all. In fact, many continued to question the decisions that he himself made this offseason when constructing the roster and coaching staff.
They also thought the phrase “except the last two ball games,” was foolish.

Jones is not very popular with Cowboys fans right now, a base that has not seen a Super Bowl win since the mid 1990’s.
He has been responsible for the majority of the coaching and player personnel decisions for decades and has not had any success in the last 30 years.
Unfortunately for fans, he likely is not anywhere close to giving up decision-making powers.
