The Dallas Cowboys were able to secure the narrow win on Thursday night, but it came with a huge cost. The team lost both their star defensive ends Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence and they are both not going to be back that soon.
Dallas Cowboys Get Brutal News Concerning Star Injuries
Now we know that Mican could be out for multiple games per Gridiron’s own Matt Lombardo:
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Parsons will be sidelined for at least 7-to-10 days before being re-evaluated to set any sort of timeline to return.
Lawrence is in an even worse position, as he will probably be placed on the injured reserve and miss at least four weeks. This is devastating to a Dallas team, that has already not looked great on the defensive side of the ball. They will be without both of these stars for likely two games, and it could be worse.
They are also about to go through the toughest stretch of the schedule for any team in the NFL, as they will face 7 straight winning teams in a row. With Dallas in shambles with injuries, they are desperately looking to add some external help ASAP!
Dallas Cowboys Looking To Add Help ASAP
As Dallas will lose both of their top edge rushers and defenders for some time, they are reportedly looking to add some help at that position before their upcoming game in week 5. They are incredibly thin at the defensive end as they also lost Sam Williams with a torn ACL early in training camp. The team is about to go through an incredibly rough schedule, and they do not look like they have a chance to make it through.
The team is now in a desperate search to add some much-needed help. Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Cowboys are exploring “external options” to add any help to their defensive line which is in shambles:
“The Cowboys are looking at external options at pass rusher with Micah Parsons(high left ankle sprain) and DeMarcus Lawrence(right midfoot sprain) going down, but they will start in-house. They are hopeful Parsons will be back sooner rather than later,” Fowler wrote.
“A source called him “week-to-week,” and he will be pushing to get back before the Week 7 bye. Lawrence’s absence is more open-ended, but it’s not a season-ender. This is a big stretch for rookie Marshawn Kneeland, on whom the Cowboys are high.”
The issue is, is that there is not really any talent in that position, and for those who think they can trade for Hasson Reddick, which is an impossible dream for Cowboys fans. It will be fascinating to see what moves they can make if any, as they are going to go through a crucial stretch of games.
