The Dallas Cowboys are always defined by their star players and one of those players went down in a critical moment in their Thursday Night Football matchup with the New York Giants.
Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons was carted off the field
In what seemed like it would be the last attempt at a lead-changing touchdown, the New York Giants were marching down the field while the fourth-quarter clock was running out. The Giants had two timeouts and a two-minute warning so an immediate stand from the Giants’ defense would be required to give themselves another shot.
As he usually does, Parsons was all over when it comes to defensive alignment. Despite his designation as an edge rusher, he was trying to provide pressure and get to Giants quarterback Daniel Jones from the A-gap.
Parsons broke through the line and got tangled up with a Giants player’s weight on his lower body. He didn’t need a cart to get off the field, but he needed a cart to get to the locker room.

The Cowboys gave the ball back to the Giants after getting the stop, but the Giants weren’t able to get anything done with star rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers out with a concussion.
The Cowboys ended up with the win and Parsons’ two tackles and one tackle for loss played a significant role. While the stats don’t jump off the page, it will be much easier for future offenses to gameplan against the Cowboys if they don’t have to worry about Parsons.
