Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys are still stinging from a brutal 2024 NFL season. Despite entering the year with high hopes, the Cowboys saw Dak Prescott go down with an injury and the rest of the team struggled all year long.
When everything was said and done, Dallas ended up with a 7-10 record and missed the playoffs. Following that season, Jones decided it was time to make some changes.
Mike McCarthy was not brought back as the team’s head coach. In his place, Jones hired first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer to replace him. It’s a risky hire, but one that the team clearly feels comfortable with.
So far this offseason, the Cowboys have made some solid free agency moves. Among the moves Dallas has already made are the signings of running backs Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, defensive end Dante Fowler Jr., re-signing Osa Odighizuwa, and the trades to acquire linebacker Kenneth Murray Jr. and cornerback Kaiir Elam.
There are other smaller moves that were made as well.
All of that being said, the Cowboys have now been predicted to land a huge offensive upgrade.
Dallas Cowboys Predicted to Land Huge Upgrade in 26-TD Weapon
Geoff Schwartz of Fox Sports has predicted that Dallas will end up selecting Arizona Wildcats’ standout wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
“The Cowboys need a second receiving weapon for Dak Prescott, and McMillan is the pick. His skill set is different from CeeDee Lamb’s and will complement the offense, thanks to his size and ability to get down the field.”
During the 2024 college football season with Arizona, McMillan caught 84 passes for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns. Back in 2023, he totaled 90 catches for 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns.
His back-to-back big years showed a track record of playmaking ability. That skill-set would fit nicely with the Cowboys alongside CeeDee Lamb.
It will be interesting to see what Dallas ends up choosing to do with the No. 12 overall pick. Should McMillan be available, it would be difficult to pass up on the chance to draft him.
