The Dallas Cowboys still need help at running back after finishing 27th in rushing yards and last in rushing touchdowns. Their leading rusher, Rico Dowdle, departed to the Carolina Panthers as Dallas replaced him with Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams, both on one-year deals and facing a downward career trajectory. Because of this, the Cowboys could select their running back of the future either on Day 1 or 2 of the upcoming draft.

He had a great career with Ohio State

TreVeyon Henderson committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes as a five-star recruit for the 2021 season. Henderson had a great career with Ohio State, rushing for 3,761 yards on 590 carries and 42 touchdowns in 47 games, finishing eleventh all-time in attempts, fourth in rushing yards, and sixth in rushing touchdowns in Buckeyes history. His accolades include being named to a Second Team All-Big Ten in 2021, First Team All-Big Ten in 2023, and Third Team All-Big Ten in 2024.
Henderson had a great senior season, managing to play every game and forming a great complement with Quinshon Judkins in the backfield. He recorded 1,016 yards on 144 carries and ten touchdowns, along with 27 receptions for 284 yards and one touchdown in 16 games.
Here’s Lance Zierlein‘s scouting report on TreVeyon Henderson

“Henderson is capable of starring on third downs or biting off a bigger chunk as a three-down option. He has average size but above-average juice with good acceleration. He’s an average decision-maker inside and is not overly creative once confronted by the defense, but he has the pacing and subtle shiftiness to excel as an outside runner.
“He might be the best pass-protecting running back in this draft and is more than capable as a pass-catcher. Henderson isn’t Jahmyr Gibbs, but he can operate in a similar role for teams looking to add a more dynamic player to their running back room.”
Zierlein predicts that Henderson will eventually become a plus starter in the NFL.
