Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has been under the microscope with the franchise ever since being hired. It’s been about winning the Super Bowl or bust for this organization for the last couple of decades. With all of the success that the Dallas sports teams have been having as of late other than the Cowboys, it feels like they are under tremendous pressure to at least get to the NFC Championship Game.
What feels not so good about the Cowboys is that they haven’t made many moves this offseason to improve the roster. Dallas and owner Jerry Jones need to give wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott a contract extension before the start of the 2024 season.

No matter how you slice it, the Dallas Cowboys are going to be making headlines this season no matter what. McCarthy won a Super Bowl in 2010 (2011 postseason) with the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers was his quarterback.
Bleacher Report Lists Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Mike McCarthy As 1 of 5 Head Coaches On the Hot Seat Entering the 2024 Season

It is not a surprise that McCarthy once again is mentioned on the hot seat for the Cowboys entering the 2024 season. Alex Kay of Bleacher Report mentioned some things about why this is possible:
“Mike McCarthy’s four-year run with the Dallas Cowboys has seen the team dominate during the regular season and just as consistently falter when the games matter most. Despite three consecutive 12-5 records and two NFC East titles in that span, the Cowboys have just one playoff win to show for their efforts.
With the team now going on nearly three decades since it last reached an NFC Championship Game, let alone a Super Bowl, it’s past time for McCarthy to deliver the deep playoff run ownership has long coveted.
Dallas appeared to have the pieces in place last year to finally get back to the big game for the first time since winning it all during the 1995 campaign. As the only team to finish the regular season ranking in the top-five in total offense, scoring offense, total defense and scoring defense, the Cowboys boasted the most well-rounded squad in the entire playoff field.”
It was a surprise when the Dallas Cowboys were smacked around by the young Green Bay Packers last postseason. There was no excuse for Dallas to lose that game against Green Bay.

The Cowboys have to make the playoffs and win a couple of playoff games this year or there could be wholesale changes to the entire organization. No matter what happens, they will always make storylines week in and week out.
