The Dallas Cowboys are preparing to be without quarterback Dak Prescott, potentially for a significant portion of the remainder of this season.

Monday, tests revealed that Prescott’s hamstring injury was worse than initially believed and that he could miss several weeks.
According to an NFL Network report, the Cowboys are considering placing Prescott on injured reserve, which would mean the star quarterback would miss at least four weeks.

Prescott was injured in the second half against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon, and will be sidelined for at least Sunday’s NFC East clash against the Philadelphia Eagles.
“Once doctors and he (Dak) figure out where he is at,” Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters Monday. “Those are conversations that will be had this week.”

Sunday’s loss to Atlanta dropped the Cowboys to 3-5, and third place in the NFC East division.
Prescott has regressed a bit through the first eight games this season from a stellar 2023 campaign, passing for 1,978 yards with 11 touchdowns but eight interceptions.
