Dak Prescott Blasted By Former New York Giants Receiver

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys are hoping that this is finally the year they can make a playoff push. They added Brandin Cooks on offense and Stephon Gilmore on defense to an already good core. With a weak NFC conference, the Cowboys are hoping this is the year. Former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress does not agree. He blasted Prescott in a recent television appearance.

Plaxico Burress Thinks Dak Prescott Has Reached His Ceiling

During an appearance on The Carton Show Burress said that the Cowboys have no chance with Prescott as their quarterback. “Dak Prescott has reached his ceiling as a quarterback. They can win with Dak Prescott but they won’t win a championship,” Burress said. This is a pretty bold statement and a scathing review of the quarterback. While Prescott has had his struggles, the Cowboys have seen a lot of success with him under center.

Getting Past The Eagles And 49ers

These are the two teams that have been a thorn in the side of the Cowboys. The Eagles are the defending NFC champions and hated division rivals. The 49ers have been the ones to knock the Cowboys out of the playoffs the past two years in a heartbreaking fashion. The moves this offseason signal that the team is all-in. If it doesn’t happen this year, the conversation is going to shift to whether Prescott can be a Super Bowl winning quarterback.

For the record, I don’t agree with Burress. Dak Prescott is an above-average quarterback who has run into some extremely good teams. Also, if we look at the past playoff losses, a lot of them aren’t his fault. In many cases, he put up 30+ points for his defense to give the game away on the last-second field goal. However, this year does feel like a make-or-break year for the team.
