“Cut Darius Slayton”: New York Giants Fans Want WR Darius Slayton Cut After Horrid Performance Against the New Orleans Saints

The New York Giants may have a major problem at wide receiver after Malik Nabers is out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL. Darius Slayton had a day to forget for the Giants in a 26-14 loss against the New Orleans Saints.

The wide receivers did not do anything to help out rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart all game long. Slayton caught three passes for 31 yards receiving, but he had a fumble and dropped two major passes. He single-handedly destroyed drives for the Giants in the first half. Slayton was not trusted in the second half and he was injured. Jalin Hyatt dropped passes, and Beaux Collins was also horrible.

Many Giants fans do not want to see Slayton on the roster after this game. He may not be able to play on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles. There are fans who do not want to see him play the field again, despite signing his three-year $36 million deal in the offseason. This is what some New York fans said about it on Twitter:

Slayton this season has only caught nine passes for 135 yards receiving and is 28 years old. He, Collins, and Hyatt, and also Wan’Dale Robinson are not going to help Dart develop. Theo Johnson and Daniel Bellinger are the most reliable targets for him, and they are both tight ends.

The Giants should cut Slayton, Hyatt, and Collins and sign players like Odell Beckham Jr., Tyler Boyd, and Gabriel Davis for the remainder of the season. They can’t be any worse at this point for New York. This receiving core without Nabers and having Slayton as the number one is an absolute joke.
