The Ohio State Buckeyes will have several players potentially drafted in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, including wide receiver Emeka Egbuka. Egbuka will be the latest Buckeyes wide receiver to be drafted potentially in the first round.

Over the last several years, Ohio State has developed wide receivers really well and they have made impacts right away in the NFL. During the 2024 college football season, Egbuka was one of the reasons why Ohio State flourished on offense, but having freshman wide receiver phenom Jeremiah Smith also helped as well.
Houston Texans Select Ohio State Buckeyes Wide Receiver Emeka Egbuka In Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Mike Band of NFL.com has created his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft. The Houston Texans will have the 25th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Band has the Texans selecting Egbuka from Ohio State with that selection. He used to be C.J. Stroud’s teammate in college.
“With Stefon Diggs’ departure and Tank Dell’s late-season injury creating uncertainty at receiver, the Texans reunite C.J. Stroud with a familiar and trusted target. Egbuka posted 1,151 yards and 10 touchdowns with Stroud in 2022 at Ohio State and profiles as a versatile playmaker who can thrive from the slot or outside. With Houston addressing the left tackle position by signing Cam Robinson in free agency, it can target a skill-position player here and revisit the O-line on Day 2.”
Diggs signed with the New England Patriots in the offseason. Dell may not be ready for the 2025 season for the Texans. Nico Collins would be Stroud’s target for next season. However, bringing in Egbuka would be a wise move for Houston.
Egbuka is 6’1″ and weighs 205 lbs. During the 2024 college football season with Ohio State, he caught 84 passes for 1,011 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns, along with averaging 12.5 yards per reception. His longest reception during the 2024 college football season with the Buckeyes was 68 yards.
He also rushed for 33 yards on eight carries and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 4.1 yards per carry. Egbuka and Stroud reuniting potentially in the NFL would be a good fit for both parties. Stroud gets a wide receiver and Egbuka gets a reliable quarterback right away also.
