The Aaron Rodgers experiment in Pittsburgh is quietly turning into a disaster. After failing to survive Buffalo’s beatdown, the veteran QB threw his receivers under the bus.

Now, analysts are questioning whether Rodgers brought his trademark drama to the Steel City.
Analyst Blasts Aaron Rodgers for Turning Steelers Week Into Sideshow
On Monday’s “UnSportsmanlike Radio,” former NFL defensive end Chris Canty torched Rodgers for creating chaotic opera. The ESPN analyst believes the four-time MVP is repeating old mistakes.
“Aaron Rodgers has created a circus-like atmosphere at the end in Green Bay. He did the same with the New York Jets, and it feels like it’s trending in that direction with the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Canty explained. He questioned why the franchise that’s always been buttoned-up is now unraveling.
Rodgers completed just 10 passes of 21 attempts for 117 yards against the Bills. The more pathetic? Joey Bosa’s strip-sack left him bloodied. Then the 42-year-old demanded his pass-catchers show up to film sessions and run the right routes.
This isn’t new territory for Rodgers. During the 2024 season with New York, he blasted Mike Williams for running an incorrect route.
However, Canty’s critique goes beyond one bad game. He described Rodgers as the personification of Pittsburgh’s decline. The Steelers started hot at 4-1, but right at this moment, they’ve lost five of their last seven.
Canty continued, “They faded last year. They seem like they’re fading this year, but it’s going to be faster because you have a quarterback that’s a week away from turning 42 years old, and he’s not going to be good enough in order to right the ship and get things back on track.”

Steelers’ fans are also pissed off with their team’s blunders. The home crowd chanted “Fire Tomlin” loud enough at Acrisure Stadium for CBS mics to catch it. After 19 years with the Steelers, patience is running very thin.
Rodgers acknowledged they had a poor practice week leading up to Buffalo. He couldn’t pinpoint why, but it showed as the offense managed only 166 total yards.
The veteran signal-caller was supposed to be the attacking core after Russell Wilson’s struggles. Instead, he’s become the lightning rod for the franchise. A pivotal divisional showdown with the Ravens is their next target that could bury Steelers’ playoff hopes for good.
