The Dallas Cowboys know they have a short leash when it comes to their fans.  A new head coach doesn’t change the fact that this team has a plethora of talent and highly paid players.  Brian Schottenheimer has said he wants to take this offense to the next level, however, that offense just took a hit.

A season-ending reserve designation has been given to veteran wide receiver Parris Campbell by the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday afternoon:

Dallas announced several roster moves today, including the signings of offensive linemen La’el Collins and Geron Christian. Parris Campbell was moved to the IR, and offensive lineman Matt Waletzko was waived.

Last weekend, it was reported that the 28-year-old Campbell suffered an MCL sprain during a team practice. Campbell signed with the Cowboys after winning a Super Bowl 59 championship with the archrival Philadelphia Eagles, who will host Dallas in the NFL Kickoff Game on Sept. 4.

Parris Campbell’s injury announcement is the latest piece of bad news in Dallas. Offensive lineman Tyler Guyton is out four to six weeks with a bone fracture in his knee, and rookie corner Shavon Revel Jr. is expected to miss the start of the season recovering from a knee injury.

On top of that, the Cowboys don’t know yet if All-Pro corner Trevon Diggs will be ready for the start of the season.

Unfortunately, injuries have prevented the former 2019 second-round pick from reaching his potential in the NFL. Campbell was limited to just 15 total games over his first three seasons and has missed at least five games in five separate campaigns.

Here is a look at Campbell’s career stats:
