Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown is making his much-anticipated return to practice following a long recovery from a severe knee injury. The young defender, who tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL late last season, has wasted no time delivering a strong message about his goals and readiness to contribute.

Overshown, who impressed with his breakout rookie season in 2024, made it clear that he is returning with renewed determination. After recording 90 tackles, five sacks, and a memorable pick-six before his injury, he aims to pick up right where he left off. Overshown expressed confidence in his abilities, emphasising that his passion and energy for the game remain intact.

Dallas’ defense has struggled this season, especially after trading star linebacker Micah Parsons. Overshown’s return could provide a much-needed boost to a unit that has fallen short in pressuring opposing quarterbacks. His combination of athleticism and versatility makes him a valuable asset as Dallas looks to improve its 3-3-1 record.

Acknowledging the challenges of his recovery, Overshown revealed his unwavering focus during rehabilitation, determined to beat expectations and return stronger. While he is targeting a Week 11 return against the Raiders, his presence in practice has already energised the team. His commitment to making an immediate impact underscores his competitive mindset.

Overshown shared his thoughts about returning to practice after being out with an injury. This can be seen in a post shared by Jon Machota on X.

Cowboys LB DeMarvion Overshown: “It’s that time. It’s time to go. … When I get between those lines, the sky is the limit for me. I’m not saying that to be cocky or anything, but I know what I bring to the field. There’s really no stress or pressure on me. I know what I’m capable… pic.twitter.com/sL8dHP6NN6

With Overshown preparing for his comeback, Dallas has reason to be optimistic about shoring up its defense. His confidence and work ethic have inspired teammates and fans alike as Dallas aims to regain momentum in a competitive NFC race.

Overshown’s return is a testament to his resilience and drive, and his message serves as a reminder of his potential to be a key playmaker. As he re-enters the fold, the Cowboys are hopeful his presence will ignite a turnaround for their defense.
