The Dallas Cowboys star pass rusher Micah Parsons took to social media following the Eagles Thursday night win over the Washington Commanders. Parsons would praise fellow Penn State alum Saquon Barkley at the same time as throwing some shade at the Cowboys other NFC East rival in New York.
This isn’t something new, the star pass rusher has made it a habit to take shots at the New York Giants organization. Some would think Parsons would be staying away from any controversial social media interactions after his comments about Dallas Head Coach Mike McCarthy sent the internet ablaze.
What Micah Parsons Thinks of the Giants
Not long after the Thursday night showdown between the Eagles and Commanders came to a conclusion. Parsons would take to X (formerly Twitter), to show his admiration for Philadelphia’s star running back Saquon Barkley. Though, he would also take the opportunity to speak his mind on Barkley’s former team. Parsons would state, “All jokes aside they Giants almost made us believe Saquon wasn’t HIM anymore!! That really says a lot!! Daniel Jones was paid over Saquon!! He was worth more to their franchise!! This really says a lot!!”
This wasn’t the first time this season the Cowboys pass rusher has gone after the Giants about the handling of Barkley. Parsons would express similar thoughts ahead of his clash against the Eagles just last week. The Dallas star would say on his podcast, “This was always who Saquon was.” He continued, “Since I have known him at Penn State until now, I knew this is what he’s capable of.” The former Penn State alum would then continue about Barkley, “For Saquon, this is a blessing in disguise. People are seeing what you’re capable of when people appreciate you. The Giants did not appreciate it.”
Barkley was successful in New York, being a two-time Pro Bowler and helping the Giants reach the playoffs once. Parsons would continue, “Now, the rest of the league is facing the consequences of the Giants stupidity.” Harsh words from the standout pass rusher, but they couldn’t be truer. Barkley is dominating and showing why he was once selected second overall.
The Barkley-Parsons Connection
For those that don’t know both Micah Parsons and Saquon Barkley played their college football at Penn State. Though, never playing together as teammates, both these star players are Pennsylvania natives. Parsons actually credits Barkley with being one of the main reasons he decided to become a part of the Penn State program. It was actually Barkley that personally brought Parsons in for his official visit to the university.
The Cowboys pass rusher has often shown great support for his fellow Penn State alum. Parsons is facing a similar situation as Barkley did not long ago. He has watched stars Dak Prescott and Ceedee Lamb collect big pay days from Dallas but is now left wondering what’s left for him. It could be interesting if the Cowboys are able to retain Parsons or will be forced to let him go find a new home in the following seasons.
