The Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones have been synonymous with one other for more than three decades. Their three championships in the 1990s cemented his place in history. However, in 2025 times are changing, and Jones’ comments about his own player isn’t going over too well.
Cowboys See Jerry Jones Completely Disrespect 1 Of His Own Players (Report)

In terms of negotiating with your star players, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones continues to write the book on how not to do it:
After years of kicking the can down the road only to be held over a barrel when it comes time to pen to paper, Dallas’ front office is once again dragging its feet on the Micah Parsons situation (if it indeed intends to pay him) — leading to “Pay Micah” chants at the team’s training camp over the weekend.
Jerry’s son Stephen explained the other day that Parsons has to “want to be paid.” While his 82-year-old oil maverick father attempted to downplay the chants by comparing them to the calls for CeeDee Lamb to get his new deal amid his holdout last year.
“I heard it light, but not compared to how I heard them say, ‘Pay [CeeDee] Lamb’ [in 2024],” Jones said Sunday, via ESPN.com. “That was a faint little sound compared to the way they were hollering last year, ‘Pay Lamb. … Whoever’s not in, you can count on a few hollering that. But it was a big loud chant last year on Lamb.”

In that same day Jerry also referred to Micah as possibly the most talented player the franchise has ever had.
“I think Micah is as talented, maybe the most talented player we’ve had,” Jones explained. “Deion [Sanders] of course had extraordinary talent. But Micah is very talented and he’s very smart.”
The All-Pro linebacker is set to make $25 million in the final year of his contract without a long-term extension.
But you would think if the Cowboys had any hesitations about paying Parsons they would have been able to see around the corner and trade him while they could still get maximum value.
