The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most followed teams in the NFL. That coupled with Micah Parsons being one of the best defensive players in the league, his contract dispute has made front page headlines for months. While Parsons has reiterated that he tried to work with the team, the team’s refusal to talk to his agent became a dealbreaker.
However, what Parsons did on the sidelines in front of fans, didn’t sit well.
“Who Does He Think He Is?” Cowboys Fans Turn On Micah Parsons After Sideline Incident (Watch)

During this pre-season, Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys are doing a fantastic job stirring up headlines:
Roughly three weeks ago, Parsons requested a trade from the Cowboys. This came after failed negotiations with Jerry Jones and the front office. The four-time Pro Bowl pass rusher has racked up 256 total tackles, 112 QB hits, 52.5 sacks and nine forced fumbles since going pro in 2021. If he gets his wish, Dallas will want a king’s ransom in return.
On Thursday night, Jones agitated the situation by throwing shade at Parsons’ agent during an interview with Cowboys legend Michael Irvin.
“We had our agreements on term, amount, guarantees and everything. We were gonna send it over to the agent,” Jones told Irvin. “The agent said, ‘Don’t bother because we’ve got all that to negotiate.’ Well, I’d already negotiated that. I’d already moved off my mark on several areas. The issue, very frankly, is we’ve had the negotiation in my mind. The agent is trying to get his nose in it and trying to come in there and improve off what we’ve already said.”
Parsons responded with some questionable behavior before and during the Cowboys’ preseason finale.

As Parsons was walking through the tunnel at AT&T Stadium on Friday, an Atlanta fan yelled “Come to the Falcons.” The All-Pro responded with the “make a call” gesture.
During the Falcons-Cowboys game, Parsons was seen laying on the training table. Some fans were convinced he was sleeping.
“What a terrible look,” one fan said.
“This is not professional behavior from a guy who wants a millionaire contract,” a second fan wrote on X.
“Dude is such a diva. Grown men setting bad examples,” another fan commented.
Mike Leslie of WFAA, however, claims Parsons wasn’t napping on the sideline.
“In the interest of clarity (and fairness) – Micah Parsons was not laying on the training table all night,” Leslie revealed on social media. “In fact, that was only a relatively short portion of the evening.”
Parsons responded to Leslie’s comments, thanking him for clearing the air.
“I actually appreciate this,” Parsons replied. “The way media shapes perception and narratives is wild—and if he hadn’t said anything, everyone would’ve just run with it. I’d never disrespect the guys out there fighting for their lives.”

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Cowboys have received trade calls for Parsons. Nothing has materialized at this time though.
“I was told the Cowboys have received multiple trade inquiries on Micah Parsons,” . They are not entertaining those inquiries right now. They don’t plan to trade him, it would take some sort of herculean, Herschel Walker sized offer for them to even entertain it.”
ESPN insider Adam Schefter previously mentioned the Khalil Mack trade package from 2018 as a potential example. The Chicago Bears sent two first-round picks, a third-round pick, and a sixth-round pick to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for Mack, a second-round pick and a conditional fifth-round pick.
The Cowboys haven’t shown any willingness to trade Parsons, so fans shouldn’t expect a trade to go down anytime soon. If anything, there’s a better chance they make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.
